Giving & Fundraising

Giving & Fundraising

Nonprofitable. integrates with Stripe to let your organization accept gifts directly -- one-time or recurring -- without the platform ever handling your funds. Money goes straight from the donor to your Stripe account.

How Giving Works

Nonprofitable. uses Stripe Connect, which means your organization creates and owns its own Stripe account. When a donor gives, the payment goes directly to your account. The platform facilitates the transaction but never holds, aggregates, or touches your funds.

To get started, connect your Stripe account in Settings. If you do not have a Stripe account yet, the setup flow walks you through creating one.

Giving Pages

Each giving page is a public, shareable page where supporters can give:

  1. Go to Fundraising in the sidebar.
  2. Navigate to Giving Pages.
  3. Click + New Giving Page.
  4. Configure the page with a title, description, and suggested gift amounts.
  5. Publish the page to make it live.

Share the giving page link in email appeals, on your website (using the Giving CTA block), or on social media.

One-Time and Recurring Gifts

Donors can choose to give once or set up a recurring gift:

  • One-time -- A single gift processed immediately.
  • Recurring -- An automatic monthly gift via Stripe subscription. The donor can cancel anytime from their receipt email.

Recurring giving is a powerful way to build sustainable revenue. Each recurring plan is tracked in the donor's record so you can see their total giving over time.

Donor-Covers-Fees

When a donor gives, they can choose to cover the processing fees so your organization receives the full intended amount. The fee formula adds the Stripe processing cost (2.9% + $0.30) on top of the gift amount. This is presented as an opt-in checkbox on the giving page.

Tax Receipts

After every successful gift, the donor automatically receives an email tax receipt containing:

  • Gift amount and date
  • Your organization's name and EIN
  • A unique receipt number
  • A statement that no goods or services were provided in exchange (where applicable)

These receipts help donors with their tax filings and reduce the administrative burden on your team.

Viewing Giving History

From the Fundraising section, you can browse all gifts with key details:

  • Donor name and email
  • Amount and date
  • Appeal and fund attribution
  • Payment status (succeeded, pending, failed)
  • Whether fees were covered by the donor

Click any gift to see its full details. Gifts also appear on each person's activity timeline in the people detail drawer, giving you a complete picture of each supporter's giving history.

Recording Offline Gifts

Not every gift comes through your giving page. You can record cash, check, non-cash gifts, and other offline gifts directly:

  1. Go to Fundraising in the sidebar.
  2. Click + Record Gift.
  3. Search for the donor or create a new person record.
  4. Enter the amount, date, and how the gift was received (cash, check, non-cash gift, or other).
  5. Optionally assign an appeal and fund.
  6. Click Save.

Offline gifts appear alongside online gifts in the giving history, giving you a complete picture of your fundraising.

Platform Fees

On the Free plan, Nonprofitable. applies a small 1.5% platform fee on each gift to cover operating costs. On paid plans, this fee is removed. Stripe's standard processing fees (2.9% + $0.30) always apply and pass through at cost.
